They etched their name in history at the first-ever Esports World Cup by defeating Team Liquid 3-0 in the grand final.

Despite being the second favourite at $5.50 with esports betting sites, Gaimin Gladiators faced challenges throughout 2024.
Last year, they choked at the Riyadh Masters, but this year, they turned the script around and emerged as champions.
Their journey wasn’t smooth; they had a shaky start in the group stage, losing 2-0 to Heroic.
However, they quickly adapted, securing third place in their group and moving to the upper bracket in the playoffs.
In the playoffs, the Gladiators reached their peak.
Their fast-paced gameplay and aura item builds helped them win all their games before 40 minutes until the grand final.
Team Falcons were the only squad to steal a game from GGs perfect upper bracket run.
In the upper bracket finals, GG faced Team Liquid, who were considered their only real competition.
GG quickly dispatched Liquid 2-0, dropping them into the lower bracket and moving on to the grand final.
This grand final was the sixth iteration of GG facing Liquid.
Gaimin Gladiators showcased aggressive gameplay from start to finish.
In Game 1, their draft included Chen, Beastmaster, and Broodmother, creating a small army of creeps that constantly pressured Liquid’s towers.
GG won Game 1 in 24 minutes with an 18-4 kill lead.
In Game 2, Liquid returned the aggression, taking an early kill lead.
However, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan dominated the midlane on his Shadow Fiend, disrupting Liquid’s ganks and out-leveling Micha? “Nisha” Jankowski.
Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov free-farmed on his Alchemist, becoming unstoppable.
Even though Michael “miCKe” Vu picked up a Divine Rapier at 40 minutes, it failed to impact Liquid’s chances.
The final game ended similarly to Game 1.
Despite Liquid’s draft having strong initiation with Beastmaster, Clockwerk, and Tiny, Quinns confident play allowed GG to gain control.
By 17 minutes, GG was knocking on Liquid’s door.
Liquid tried to stall, but a dominating team fight led to a 30-minute victory for GG.
Gaimin Gladiators have now won six grand finals against Team Liquid, with this being their first 3-0 victory since the Lima Major.
One #Dota2 player has risen above the rest.

Quinn’s performance earned him the Most Valuable Player title and a $50,000 prize.
Europe’s dominance in the professional Dota scene continues, with GG leading the charge.
Team Falcons, who were a dominant force earlier this year, failed to win this tournament, giving hope to other organisations in the Club Championship.
Meanwhile, Chinas comeback saw them place second at PGL Wallachia and fourth at DreamLeague Season 23, but the Riyadh Masters was not their tournament, with G2.IG and Azure Ray finishing in 19th and 20th.
Other regions also failed to make a significant impact.
This victory marks a triumphant comeback for Gaimin Gladiators, solidifying their status as one of the top teams in Dota 2.

With the two additions, Bleed Esports completed their Dota 2 line-up, weeks ahead of DreamLeague Season 22.
Mikoto joins Bleed Esports as one of the most recognisable names from the South-East Asia (SEA) Dota 2 scene.
The 23-year-old started his esports career in March 2017 and has since played for some of the top teams in the region, including BOOM Esports and Talon Esports.
With Talon, Mikoto accomplished a lot last year.
He won the BTS Pro Series Season 14: Southeast Asia and DPC SEA 2023 Tour 2: Division I and claimed two bronze medals at the Lima Major 2023 and Riyadh Masters 2023.
However, despite all the success, Mikoto found himself on the chopping block after Talon’s 9th-12th-place exit from The International 2023.
His new teammate, poloson joins Bleed Esports as one of the most experienced players on the roster.
Over his career, which spans a decade, poloson has competed with some of the strongest Dota 2 teams in the world, including Invictus Gaming, Nigma Galaxy SEA, and Team SMG.
Even though poloson didn’t accomplish much in 2023 when he competed with Myth Avenue Gaming, the seasoned veteran can offer a lot of value for Bleed, who’ll look to build on the success they’ve achieved in 2023.
New blood, new faces, please welcome @mikoto347 and @polosonn!

— BLEED Esports (@ggBleed) January 8, 2024
Bleed Esports have proven very active during the Dota 2 offseason, looking to strengthen the roster after failing to accomplish much in the 2023 season.
Even though Bleed Esports won DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3: Division I, the SEA squad failed to show much on the international stage.
In July, Bleed Esports attended Bali Major 2023 and crashed out of the $500,000 Dota 2 esports tournament in 13th-14th place.
By the end of the season, the Singaporean team unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for The International and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, exiting both qualifiers in fifth-sixth place.
In a bid to find more success in 2024, Bleed Esports started rebuilding the roster in November with the addition of Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee and Tommy “Taiga” Le.
However, after a rough showing at Kobolds Rave in December, Bleed released Taiga and found two new players to fill the missing gaps.
Bleed Esports will debut their new roster in the upcoming DreamLeague Season 22 qualifier, set to start in February.

EXECRATION vs TSM Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Execration and TSM have met four times this year, most recently in April, during Berlin Major 2023, when they parted ways with a 1-1 draw. Three of the four meetings ended in a tie C the only exception was TSM’s victory at DreamLeague Season 19, two weeks before the Berlin Major.
Based purely on their head-to-head record, TSM and Execration look evenly matched, but according to the top Dota 2 betting sites, this is TSM’s game to lose. This doesn’t make much sense, considering TSM haven’t played a single official match since June.
On the other hand, Execration are not in the best form. They attended the Bali Major earlier this month and crashed out in 15-16th place without a single victory (0-5-3), which looks concerning. But even though Execration crumbled in Bali, they should do fine against the rusty TSM.

Team Liquid are priced at $7.50 to win Riyadh Masters 2023, behind only Tundra Esports ($4.00) and Gaimin Gladiators ($3.00). While Liquid look a great bet to reach the final ($3.75), there is a good chance Entity will make them work for the win in this clash.
Opening matches of Majors tend to be much closer, and that trend is especially noticeable this season. At the Dota 2 Bali Major, half of the first-round games ended in a draw; in Berlin, 43.75% (7/16). That wouldn’t be a good enough reason to bet against Liquid, but Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi and his crew are known to play down to their opponent’s level, which makes Entity with a +1.5 map advantage a solid choice.
9PANDAS vs OG Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

9Pandas placed fifth-sixth at Bali Major 2023 at the start of July and will now look to build on that success in Ryidah as one of the live outsiders to make a deep run. In Bali, the Russians didn’t disappoint with their performances, and while their run through the group stage (3-2-2) wasn’t too impressive, 9Pandas left a strong statement with their games against Team Aster (2-1), beastcoast (2-1), and Team Liquid (1-2).
OG didn’t attend the Bali Major and were last seen competing in June at DreamLeague Season 20, where Tommy “Taiga” Le and co. placed 13th-16th. Still, this is a good team, and with Sbastien “Ceb” Debs back on the roster, OG are capable of competing for at least a top-eight finish.
9Pandas look much better on paper than OG, but 9Pandas are also known to stumble in best-of-two series, which could make this game a bit closer than expected. A draw seems like the most likely outcome, but we’re getting far more value backing OG to win in the three-way market.
The Gamers8 festival is in full swing, and this week the $15 million Dota 2 Riyadh Masters get underway on July 19, with the world’s best Dota 2 teams battling it out for a share of the biggest prize pool on offer at the festival.
The top 20 teams in the world have been invited to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and we expect that the gameplay will be top tier over each of the 11 days of play.
Some of the key leagues and tournaments taking place in the esports world this week include:
The Dota 2 professional scene has been dominated by Gaimin Gladiators throughout 2023. With a win at the Riyadh Masters, it would give the Gladiators their sixth straight tournament win going into the final event of the year, The International.
Most esports betting sites have Gaimin Gladiators as the $3.00 favourite to take out the Riyadh Masters, closely followed by Tundra Esports at $4.00.

The second week of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups will continue this Monday, as the final group stage matches are completed and the tournament heads into the playoff stage.

The four-day event, which started on July 7, hosted 10 Dota 2 teams from around the world. Although three teams had to seal their spots through the Gamers Without Borders qualifiers, seven others were invited.
Despite starting 2022 on a high note and dominating the DPC China, they lost their way in Tour 3. They registered their worst finish, ending split in fourth place.
However, they bounced back in the Riyadh Masters. PSG.LGD started their Riyadh Masters run in Group B, alongside Team Secret, Team Spirit, Tundra Esports, and Deboosters.
Team Secret disrupted what could have been a perfect group stage run for PSG.LGD. They comfortably beat all the other teams in the group but lost to Secret 2-0.
On their way to the final, PSG.LGD defeated Nigma Galaxy and OG. The Chinese powerhouse were the clear favorite in the match across several betting sites, and they delivered.
Team Spirit put up a decent fight but the entire series was over in 64 minutes, ending 2-0 in favor of PSG.LGD. The Russian organization was also one of the invited teams, who finished third behind Team Secret and PSG.LGD in Group B.
Their first loss came at the hands of PSG.LGD, and it turned out that the same team ended denied them the Riyadh Masters title. After a 2-1-1 group stage performance, Team Spirit started their playoff run with a 2-1 victory over Royal Never Give Up.
In their semifinal tie, they faced a familiar foe, which ended in a stalemate during the group stage. On this occasion, Spirit bested Secret 2-1 in the best-of-three series.
Despite it being the first time teams from China were able to travel for a LAN event this year, they held their own. RNG reached the playoffs while PSG.LGD won the event.
PSG.LGD’s next outing will be in the PGL Arlington Major which will commence on August 4. They are one of the 18 teams that will be fighting for a piece of the $500,000 prize pool and DPC points.
Regardless of how the Arlington Major goes, PSG.LGD have already sealed a spot in The International 2022. Of the 20 teams expected to participate, only four have guaranteed their participation.
It is worth pointing out that PSG.LGD are the reigning finalists in the event. They squared off against Spirit in the grand final of the 2021 edition and lost 3-2.
Although the initial prize pool is $1.6 million, there is a chance that will increase before the end of the event. Last year, the prize pool rose to over $40 million.

The second round of Riyadh Masters 2022 Group B matches kicks off with a The International 2021 rematch between PSG.LGD and Team Spirit, and if their last clash was any indication, we’re in for another spectacular affair. In October, Spirit won 3-2 after leading 2-0, and even though they were the superior team, it’s PSG.LGD who enter this bout as the favorites.
That is hardly surprising, knowing that Spirit have not achieved much since last season. They won DPC EEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final in February but could only manage a ninth-12th place finish at ESL One Stockholm 2022 in May. Last week, Spirit also placed third in the final tour of EEU DPC, which isn’t a terrible result but far below the expectations.
PSG.LGD are an entirely different story, having won four of seven events they’ve attended this year C except for Intel World Open Beijing (3rd), OGA Dota PIT Season 6 China (5th-6th), and DPC CN Tour 3 (4th). Unfortunately, due to China’s travel restrictions, PSG.LGD have not appeared in a single international Dota 2 esports event this season.
This is a clash between two of the strongest Dota 2 esports teams in the world, and while it is reasonable to see PSG.LGD priced as favourites C due to Spirit’s slump C we’re not ready to pay such a high price. The value is with Team Spirit.

Nigma Galaxy’s invite to the tournament raised mayhem since they’re no longer considered an elite-level team. But it makes sense for Nigma to attend Riyadh Masters 2022 due to their utter domination of WEU DPC Division II. Nigma Galaxy have won all seven games in the lower division and have dropped just one map (14-1), proving that they’re not to be slept on.
TSM made the finals of the last Major, but they’ve fallen off drastically and failed to qualify for the Arlington Major with a fourth-place finish in the North American DPC. Although still a formidable team, TSM’s form is highly concerning.
This is a clash between a team that was very good just a couple of months ago and Nigma Galaxy, who are on the rise, so the question is: should we value past achievements more than current form? Perhaps we shouldn’t get too excited about Nigma Galaxy’s near-perfect run through the WEU DPC Div II, but it’s also hard to make a case for TSM, who have not shown anything since May.
At the offered Dota 2 betting odds, Nigma Galaxy are the only reasonable choice.

OG are fan favourites to win Riyadh Masters 2022 mainly due to their success at the last Major and because this is a young and exciting roster. But while OG are still a force to be reckoned with, it’s hard to look past how much better Team Liquid have looked of late.
That’s not to say Liquid haven’t achieved anything this season, but they’ve stormed through WEU DPC Tour 3 Div I with just two defeats (0-2 against Team Secret, 1-2 against goonsquad), proving that they’re the real deal. They also won against OG twice not that long ago.
Perhaps Liquid’s past achievements should be taken with a grain of salt since Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen will not play for the team. But with Anathan “ana” Pham taking over, it wouldn’t be fair to say that Liquid are at any disadvantage.
This should be a very close affair, so we will gladly take Team Liquid at plus money.

?Representing North America, TSM will kick off their quest for the lions share of the $4 million prize pool on Wednesday, when they clash with one of Europes most storied Dota 2 teams, Team Liquid. It will mark the third head-to-head clash between rival organisations and the first since ESL One Stockholm when TSM won both fixtures (1-0, 2-0).
At the time, TSM were on fire and came just two maps short of winning the organisations first Dota 2 Major title. On the other side, Liquid crashed out from the first round of the playoffs with a 1-2 defeat against BetBoom Team.
But despite their success in May, TSM travel to Riyadh as one of the underdogs, which makes sense considering theyve gone 4-3 since the Stockholm Major and placed fourth in the final NA DPC Tour. Liquid have looked significantly better over the same stretch, winning all but two of eight fixtures, including twice against OG (2-0, 2-0) and Tundra Esports (2-0).
It was only a matter of time before Team Liquid found their stride, and theyve done it just in time to get ready for The International 2022. Notably, Liquid will play with Anathan ana Pham as a replacement for Lasse MATUMBAMAN Urpalainen, which brings up some questions, knowing that ana has been out of pro play since May 2021. Regardless, hes a world-class player, so we have no concern.
Liquid to win at $1.61 is a fair price and an easy choice.
ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP vs NIGMA GALAXY Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | RNG $1.72 at GG Bet | NGX $2.00 at GG Bet |
When: | July 20, 2022 | 15:00 AST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/gamers8_en) |
?Royal Never Give Up qualified for the event by winning Gamers Without Borders 2022: Asia in May while dropping a single map over the three series. They demolished EHOME (2-0) and picked up two wins against BOOM Esports (2-1, 2-0) to claim their first tournament title of 2022.
But that may sound worse than it is, knowing that RNG have not placed worse than fourth across six events, including a runner-up finish at DPC CN Tour 1 Regional Finals. Moreover, RNG also won the final DPC Tour of the season with a 4-2 record.
Nigma Galaxy will have a lot to prove in Saudi Arabia as they look to re-establish themselves as a proper Tier-1 team. They already did that to some degree with a near-perfect run through the WEU DPC Tour 3 Div II, where theyve won all seven series with a 14-1 map difference.
We cant know how Nigma will fare in Riyadh, but they looked good at Gamers Without Borders 2022 in May and deserve more respect on the esports betting markets. Royal Never Give Up look stronger, but this should be a close affair, so well take a shot with a draw at $2.05.
OG vs ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | OG $1.53 at GG Bet | RNG $2.37 at GG Bet |
When: | July 20, 2022 | 21:00 AST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/gamers8_en) |
?The reigning Major champions, OG, will clash with Royal Never Give Up on Wednesday for the first time since The International 2019 when OG swept the Chinese representatives en route to the historic title. The rosters have changed drastically since then, so that result doesnt mean much, yet OG are still favoured to come out on top.
That makes sense considering OG are one of the top European Dota 2 teams. They won the ESL Stockholm 2022, the second WEU DPC Tour, and placed third in the third tour after losing a tiebreaker match against the in-form Team Liquid.
Evidently, OG are an elite-level team, but $2.37 on Royal Never Give Up looks a bit too generous. The Chinese squad has been on a roll recently and are more than capable of beating OG. At higher odds, we would take OG, but the value is with Royal Never Give Up.
